Kimberly Robinson-studio owner, Barre Level 1 & 2, Barre Fire, Barre Bootcamp, Barre Tabata, Barre Bands Instructor

I have so many people want to know “my story.” Why me? Why barre?
I have always been into exercise. Whether it be taking fitness classes or just walking miles on a backroad. Count me in!
My story goes a little something like this: I had been doing Crossfit for 2 years but I had been researching and was really wanting to try barre. I was just so dang nervous and did not want to go alone!
A sweet friend of mine called me up and said she had found a studio and that we should go take a class.
The night before my first class, I barely slept. I kid you not. I was so nervous.
BUT
Before I even finished my first class I knew. I knew I wanted to teach barre. I loved it that much. I was hooked. Like wanted to share it with everyone. But how? Not me. No way. I teach small children not women. I even tried to talk myself out of it several times. But, I kicked that self-doubt to the curb and decided to be the girl who went for it!
I have completed Level 1 & Level 2 (Advanced Certifications) as well as Band Sculpt, Barre n Pow(h)er,  Bootcamp, and Tabata style class certifications. I look forward to bringing the heat and energy to every single class I teach!

When I am not at the barre, you can find me teaching preschool or at a sporting event for my kids. My other hobbies include shopping and gardening.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Tyler for 13 years and we have 2 children: Rome (10) and Livy Sue (9).

Loren Savoia-Pilates Mat Instructor
Classically trained, Fitour and ACE certified in beginner and advanced Pilates. Red Cross CPR/AED certified. Group fitness certification from ACE.
My love of Pilates started over 20 years ago. I have always been into exercise and have attempted most fitness trends over the past 40 years. I found Pilates after hurting my back and needed a lower impact form of exercise that not only rehabilitated my injury but enhanced my flexibility, strength, endurance, and core and spinal health.
I was born and raised in New York, then moved to New Jersey after I got married. Yep, NY, you hear it in my accent. We moved to Sparta, TN 7, years ago. I began taking exercise classes at the White County YMCA. I loved it and asked about teaching Pilates there. They helped me get the certifications needed, and I started teaching 5 years ago. I met Jan Thorne of Premier Pilates in Cookeville and trained and taught there for a time. I am continuing my Pilates education to this day and will always work to expand my knowledge and practice. I am grateful to the staff and students at the Y and Jan for their support and encouragement.
After moving to Carthage in January of this year, I discovered Brickhouse Barre. I knew we had moved to the right place…Barre in the small town of Carthage? It was meant to be! Kim has been so welcoming and gracious. I appreciate the opportunity she has given me to share my love of Pilates with this welcoming community. Thank you
When I am not on the mat, you will find me with my face in a book, chasing my 3-year-old granddaughter or, spending time with my amazing husband of 37 years.

Lindsey Whitaker-Yoga and Barre Instructor

In the winter of 2019 I started looking for a new form of exercise.  I had been a runner for years and tried crossfit, but I began to have aches and pains from these forms of exercise.  I joined Brickhouse barre in January of 2019 and immediately fell in love with barre.  I later tried yoga and found that yoga gave me a whole new sense of peace.  I craved coming to class, and within a year I had completed 200 classes. Within 13 months of starting barre I became a certified Barre Amped instructor and a Yoga Fit Level 1 instructor.  Teaching was never my plan, but I find it so rewarding.

I love to be outside. So when I’m not at the barre you will find me piddling around on our “hobby” farm.

Rachel Petty-Barre instructor
I first walked through the door of Brickhouse Barre in April 2021. I had fallen in love with group fitness classes like cardio dance and yoga during college, but it had been a few years since I had worked out in a group setting. After attending several yoga classes, I got brave enough to try barre for the first time. After that, I was hooked! I received my Level 1 Barre Certification through BarreAmped in July 2022.

My favorite thing about barre is the mind/body connection at the heart of each workout. My goal is to create an encouraging environment where everyone can leave class feeling both energized and relaxed as well as proud of themselves. I truly believe that barre is for everybody!

I was born and raised in Gordonsville on my family’s farm, and I currently reside in New Middleton. I am a 2014 graduate of Gordonsville High School and a 2018 graduate of Belmont University, where I majored in English. When I’m not at the barre, you can find me curled up with a good book, working on my latest crochet or sewing project, or out discovering a new hiking trail.

Donna Hopper-Step Aerobics and Cardio Kickboxing

I have been taking step aerobics off and on for the last 27 years. Always under my wonderful friend and mentor, Ms. Rita Dickerson. Through these years, I would sometimes sub for my dear friend when she needed to be elsewhere. I have also tried many other forms of excercise, such as gym memberships, Curves, Zumba Fitness, BARRE, Yoga and water aerobics, to name a few.   You name it and there is a good chance I have tried it.

In 2012 I became a certified Zumba Fitness Instructor and instructed classes for approximately 3 years.  With all that being said,  I have always came back to my “first love”, step aerobics.  In 2022, I got my certification in Step Aerobics and Cardio Kickboxing and became part of the Brickhouse Fitness family.  I am so thankful to have this space.  A space to enjoy with friends while trying to better ourselves.  Thank you Kim for all you do!

Jenna Hackett-Barre instructor

She completed her spine and core anatomy training and she is Level 1 Barre Amped certified in May 2021.

Here is a little about her fitness journey: I have always enjoyed exercise, whether it be through sports, running, or group classes. Most of my life, I have been dedicated to running and heavy cardio, but as I’ve gotten older, “cardio cardio cardio” just wasn’t something that was sustainable for my body long term. I really started experimenting with group classes in college and I really enjoyed that type of setting. Fast forward a few years, I heard about a barre studio in my hometown that a lot of people went to and loved. At first I was hesitant, because I really had no idea what barre was or what to even expect. Was it just stretching? Would I get enough out this type of workout? After my first class, I knew this was a great type of workout for me. I left that first day excited for something new and a little bit sore the days following. That was the fall of 2019. From then, I have continued to attend barre classes 3-4 times a week. I really enjoy the group setting and atmosphere of the entire class. Getting the motivation to workout can sometimes be difficult, but I never dread going to barre. With that being said, I’m super excited to be a part of this community of women working to better themselves, and I hope to be a small part of that overall goal.

A little bit about me personally:
I’m a Smith county native. I have always lived in the Rome community, and I love being from this area of Tennessee. I’m a Smith County High School graduate, and former cheerleader for the Owls. After high school, I went on to Tennessee Tech and finished my Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene at Western Kentucky University. I married my husband, Hunter, October 2020. In my free time, I love taking walks outside on our backroad, spending time with family, and watching HGTV or binging a good Netflix show.
